dragonyphoenix: Blackadder looking at scraps of paper, saying "It could use a beta" (Captain Jack)
Title: Fascination
Note: Not only does it use the last line from Distractions, it picks up where that story ends.

“We have to go.”

As if dragging Giles to his feet had been a sign, the remains of ancient scholars rose from their seats. Their clothes fell to dust, leaving behind bare bone. Xander grabbed a book and threw it. Giles winced but the closest corpse, apparently beyond caring about the preservation of ancient tomes, caught the book in one bony hand and tossed it aside.

“Over here.” Xander grabbed the edge of a table, shoving it onto its side. It wasn’t much but it was something of a barrier between them and the advancing hoard.

“Good Lord, they aren't acting like proper zombies at all.”

“Proper zombies? Giles, they’re dead and they’re moving. What more do you want?”

“You don't understand. Zombies have minds of their own. These … creatures are moving as one, as if they were controlled by a single mind, possibly by the library itself. This is simply fascinating.”

Xander eyed the scores of corpses between them and the door. “Giles, there's a time and a place for 'how fascinating.' This isn't it.”

Note: Written for the last-line-first-line prompt at Giles Shorts.
Note: And I got this one down to 100 words althoug I had to mess with the first line a bit.

“What? I'm supposed to say I didn't come home because my Watcher had a dream?”

“I don't see how requiring your assistance with research constitutes a dream.”

“As in dream-on?” Buffy dumped the book on the table.

“I know! You can say you're staying overnight at my house.”

“Willow!”

“Hardly any of your books are in English, right?” Xander asked. “I'm pretty sure Buffy doesn't read ancient geek.”

“I will be reviewing the non-English materials myself.” Before Buffy could get too excited, he tapped the book on the table. “You may start with this.”

Spontaneous Human Combustion. Gee, what fun.”

I'm taking some of my stories and rewriting them to improve them. I've spend a couple of hours expanding on Share and Share Alike, which I'd originally kept as a pure drabble.
Note: Xander is watching a Babylon 5 episode, “The Parliament of Dreams”

“After we're married, half of your money will be mine.”

What the hell? Anya could see he was watching the tv. Couldn't that towering pile of wedding magazines keep her busy for at least one episode? Xander clicked up the volume. - How's your aunt? - How's your brother? I can't believe I'm going through all this with you again.

“Xander.” Anya yanked the control out of his hand and muted the volume. “Were you listening to me? Once we're married, half of what’s yours is mine.”

Yeah, and half of what's yours will be mine.” The control was right there, lying on the couch between them. Knowing better than to pick it up, Xander stared at the tv and added in the muted dialog. - Will you follow me into fire? Into storm? Into darkness? Into death?

Anya's magazine hit the coffee table with a heavy thud. “That's not fair. I worked hard for my money.”

“And my job's a picnic in the park?”

“That's different.”

“It always is honey.”

So I get to keep my money?”

Nope, once we two become one, it's share and share alike.” Oh God, unless … unless she caught on to prenups before the wedding. Before she could read the terror on his face and ask what he was thinking, Xander grabbed the control and turned on the volume. - Taste of it and be not afraid. For I am with you to the end of time.

Day 6: In your own space, create a fanwork. A drabble, a ficlet, a podfic, or an icon, art or meta or a rec list. A picspam. Something. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

You mean I could have just made a rec list?!? )

Note: The first section of this story is copied directly from Critical Review, the story I'm revising, but I did add this sub-title: The True Chronicles of Alexander Lavelle Harris.
Note: Strongly influenced by Booster's story, Ten Things That Never Happened in the BtVS Fandom
Note: Thanks to speakr2customrs, Gill O, il-mio-capitano, and pickamix for giving me food for thought on Scara's accent. It is totally not their fault that I decided to give Scara her own tongue on top of a bad London accent.
Note: This is my first remix. I can't wait to read all the stories.

Title: Dream a Little Dream of You
Rating: PG
Summary: What kind of fanfic would we see if Xander, known as Alex here, were the star of his own movie?
Note: Teaser for my Circle of Friends remix, although it seems more likely this will drive readers away from my remix. ;-)
Note: Written for a prompt at Taming the Muse: Sleepwalk
Note: Inspired by Dawnstarrie07's story in Ten Things That Never Happened in the BtVS Fandom although, sadly, I couldn't bring myself to write that bad a story.

Three fledges had risen that night. Three fledges had fought only to become three piles of dust on the lawn of Shady Rest Cemetery. Alex twirled his stake as he scanned the graveyard. The one vampire he wanted was the one vampire he couldn't find. I'll get you, Angel. You'll pay for killing my sister. )

Since Anya was busy flipping through some bridal mag, Xander clicked on the tv.

“After we’re married half of your money will be mine.”

“Huh?” He muted the tv.

“After we’re married, half of what’s yours is mine.”

“Yeah, and half of what’s yours will be mine.”

“What?” Man, her shriek could peel tar off a roof. “That’s not fair. I worked hard for my money.”

“And my job’s a picnic in the park?”

“That’s different.”

“It always is, honey.”

“So I get to keep my money?”

“Nope,” Xander said. “Once we two become one, it’s share and share alike.”

Note: Written for a prompt at Taming the Muse: Triquetra
Note: I made up the spell using online translators and also mucking with it because that seems to be a tradition when creating pseudo-Latin spells.
Note: Crossover between BtVS and The Unwritten (graphic novel)

I hate to break this up but the other Ethan, well not the evil Ethan, but the other half of you Ethan, is still in the hospital in a coma. )

Note: Written for a prompt at Taming the Muse: andalusite, which is a rock. I used chaistolite which is a form of andalusite.
Note: Yeah, I totally made up a title for a Tommy Taylor book.
Note: I had a bit of fun with Willow’s resolve-face at the end there. ;-)

The prison was on fire. Xander stepped back – so many bodies, none moving – and his foot gave way beneath him. He felt himself falling, floundering until a hand reached out and grabbed him, drawing him back through the portal. )

Title: And If My Love Had Never Let Me Go 11/15
Fandom: BtVS, The Unwritten
Prompts: demonomania
Warnings: None
Rating: PG
Summary: Trekker wrote a series called In Another Life where Rupert went back to the Council but never broke up with Ethan. In the chapter “The Dark Age, Postscript”, Ethan is drawn into a universe where his and Rupert's relationship had ended. It was such a fascinating idea I couldn't help but play with it. This is a remix of that chapter.
Note: The story shifts between the two verses but headers are included to orient the reader.

Note: There wasn’t much happening in this chapter. Luckily Taming the Muse provided a prompt of demonomania, a delusion of being possessed by evil spirits, which sent me into a digression, a crossover with The Unwritten.
